Main Focus: Inference - Chapters 1-3

This activity focuses on inference within the first few chapters of the Beowulf book.

We have taken some information for your Year 3 / Year 4 class to make inferences. We have also included a multiple choice inference resource to help.

Main Focus: Character Study - Beowulf

This resource focuses on the character Beowulf once he is introduced into the story, right up until his victory against Grendel’s mum.

We have taken a range of sentences from the book and created a list of adjectives to describe Beowulf based on the sentences.

Your class will read the sentences and adjectives and match them.

Main Focus: Contractions

In this resource, your Year 3 / Year 4 class will look at words within the story of Beowulf that could have (could’ve) been contracted.

Main Focus: Past and Present Tense

This activity for LKS2 focuses on past and present tense words.

Your class will identify the verbs in the passage and then write the verbs in their present tense.

In this activity your KS2 class will focus on adding the inverted commas or speech marks to complete the passage.

We have 6 different worksheets to choose from in this activity. In one page your class must identify and insert the inverted commas, in another the children must insert the inverted commas that have been highlighted for them and in another page, your class will try to find the inverted commas.

Main Focus: Apostrophes

This activity focuses on Apostrophes. We have created a few worksheets for this activity.

Your class could add in the apostrophes to complete the sentences. They could also identify the apostrophes and give an explanation as two why it has been used.

We have taken  passages, removed the punctuation and your class must add in the capital letters, full stops, commas, question marks and exclamation marks.

Your class must answer the questions  using their understanding of the story and evidence to support their answers.
