Dinosaur Lady

Dinosaur Lady by Linda Skeers

“Dinosaur Lady” is the true story of a brave and curious girl named Mary Anning, who lived a long time ago in England. She didn’t let the fact that girls weren’t supposed to be scientists stop her. Instead, Mary spent her days exploring the cliffs near her home, hunting for strange-looking rocks that turned out to be ancient fossils!

Mary made amazing discoveries, like the bones of huge sea creatures called ichthyosaurs and plesiosaurs—animals that lived way before there were people. Even though many people didn’t believe a woman could be a real scientist, Mary proved them wrong with her hard work and sharp eye for fossils.

This colorful and exciting book, written by Linda Skeers and illustrated by Marta Álvarez Miguéns, shows how Mary’s love for science helped her become one of the first paleontologists ever. It’s a great read for kids who love dinosaurs, adventures, and learning about real-life heroes who changed the world with their curiosity.
