Little Bear just can’t get to sleep because he is afraid of the dark. Big Bear is patient and brings bigger and bigger lanterns to keep away the darkness. Still Little Bear is afraid, so Big Bear takes him outside to see the moon and the stars.

This is a sequencing activity for guided or whole class reading. 

After reading the story, your class will read the passages taken from the story and order them in chronological order.

Allow your Year 1  kids to use the book to assist with order if required.

This is a story map which can be used instead of the sequencing activity above for the younger children.

If you photocopy the pictures then the children can add them to their page in order.

Main Focus: Comprehension

This is a comprehension which can be completed after reading the story.

This will check how well your class grasped the events in the story and their overall ability to recall and search for information.

Main Focus: Questions

This resource helps your children develop their questioning skills.

Your class will read the answers given and write a question to accompany it.
